UX writing is still very much a relatively new discipline, and many find it’s struggle to nail down what “good” UX writing consists of, let alone define what it is. There’s some great resources out there of course, including Kinneret Yifrah’s wonderful book “UX Microcopy”, but like most things in the tech industry, UX writing evolving at such a breakneck speed, you’ll need every resource imaginable to stay at the top of your game.

Good UX writers are always looking for an edge, and finding ways to stay plugged into the community; industry blogs, Medium posts, social meetups, and Facebook groups are just some of the ways to stay woke (in UX terms). So much of what UX consists of, involves market research, competitive analysis, and testing, so any insights we can gain from others, the better.

My personal, go to source to find those gold nuggets of valuable information is without a doubt, podcasts. There’s a podcast for almost everything it seems, and now there’s some quality casts dedicated to the art of UX writing.

The only problem is figuring out what to listen to. Search “UX writing” in your podcast store and you’re likely to find everything from every spectrum available, including podcasts created years ago from a studios that sound like they were created in their mom’s basement like Wayne and Garth from Wayne’s World…
